Applying for a Library Card
Visit the Circulation Desk and present your current/valid Driver’s License or State of Michigan ID showing your current/valid Redford Township address. You will receive your card in a matter of minutes and it will be valid for one (1) year from the date of issue.
The Library offers self-serve copiers for your convenience. The photocopiers are located in the Copy alcove near the Adult Reference Desk. B&W copies are .20/pg. and color copies are .75/pg. You may also scan a document to a flash drive using the color copier free of charge.
Display Case Information
Do you have an interesting collection or hobby that you’d like to share? Ask to feature your treasures in the Library’s display case! The display case is available for educational, artistic, informational, and cultural displays and exhibits. Displays of a commercial nature are not accepted, though business cards may be left at the Library for distribution. Signage stating a display’s sponsorship must be included with all exhibits.
Public Computer Access
There are 24 computers in the Adult Department and 6 in the Children's Department, which offer internet access and Microsoft Office 2010. In order to use these computers, you must log on with a valid Library card number or a Guest Pass.
If you bring your own wireless-compatible device, you may access the Wi-Fi without a Library card. You may print wirelessly from your smartphone, laptop or tablet to our library’s black-and-white/color copier. If you are in a hurry, use one of the 2 Express Stations available next to the library catalogs for 15 minute sessions.
The library offers fax services at the Circulation Desk. Faxing is available at $1/pg., outgoing only with a free coversheet. International faxing is available with an additional $5 flat fee.
Please remember to renew on or before the due date. Most items may be renewed twice with the following exceptions:

The library provides 3 self-checkout machines for your convenience. Located in the Children’s Department, at the Circulation Desk and next to the main catalogs, the self-checkout machines provide receipt options not available at the Circulation Desk.
Can’t find what you’re looking for? Interlibrary loan is available for many items not owned by the Redford Township District Library.
Self-Service Hold Shelf
The library features a self-service hold shelf, conveniently located next to the Circulation Desk. When you are notified that your request has come in, it will remain on the shelf under your last name for 1 week. You may check out the item(s) at the Circulation Desk or at one of the 3 convenient self-checkout machines.

Tax Forms Are Here
Hard copies will be available through Tax Day. The Library also keeps a copy of reproducible forms that you may make copies of at .20/pg. Forms not available at the library may also be printed from the following websites for .20/pg.

Meeting Room Use
The meeting room may be reserved by professional and governmental groups and by any local, organized, non-profit group in Redford.
Sometimes you just need an old fashioned typewriter and we have one! If you find yourself needing one, please visit the Childrens Reference Desk and they will be happy to provide access.
Paws for Reading
Beginning readers through fifth grade (with their parent) are invited to sign up at the Children's Desk for this popular Saturday program. Choose to share a story with either Molly, a wonderful Old English Sheepdog, or Billy Flynn, an amazing black Labrador.
