Our Adult Summer Reading Program runs from June 17 through July 29. Read for fun and a chance to win prizes. Stop by the Adult Reference Desk for summer reading information.

Create a Book to Devour
Saturday, June 29, 11:30 a.m.
In keeping with our summer reading theme The Cookie Lady will show you how to decorate a cookie to look like a book cover, and she’ll share other edible book ideas. Space is limited for this cooki e decorating class – registration required.
Local Author Fair
Saturday, August 17, 1-3 p.m.
Don’t miss the Library’s 2nd annual Local Author Fair. Local authors from Redford and surrounding communities will be here to share their works. Stop by anytime between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. to meet the authors and talk with them about their publications. Books will be available for purchase during the fair. Light refreshments will be served.
Call for Authors!
The Author Fair provides a forum for local authors to promote their published works. It will give authors an opportunity to network with each other, to present their works to others in the community, and to exchange tips on writing and publishing.
Participation is limited. Pick up an application at the Adult Reference Desk or print one HERE.
Business Mentoring
Thinking of starting a business? Have questions about marketing or growing your existing small business? The Library has teamed with experts from SCORE, offering free one-on-one mentoring sessions to answer your questions. Appointments are available on the third Tuesday of each month. When you sign up at the Adult Reference Desk, ask about our business books and databases, too!
Movie Night
Come for our monthly movies, held on the last Wednesday of the month. The movie on the big screen is free and so is the popcorn! To register online, click on the movie titles below. To register in person, stop by the Adult Reference Desk or call 313-531-5960 ext. 103.

Redford Recreational Readers
If you're a reader who would like an opportunity to discuss books with others, join the Redford Recreational Readers, our book discussion group for adults. We will be meeting the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7 pm, in one of the 2nd floor meeting rooms. Each month you'll have an opportunity to meet fellow book lovers, share in group discussion of a selected book and suggest titles for future discussions.
Registration is not required, but the library has limited copies of each book. If you sign up in advance at the Adult Reference Desk, we'll make every effort to obtain a copy for you from another library.

Coping with loss can be difficult. This group will discuss book topics related to grief, loss and healing. The group will be held in a private room with comfortable seating. Snacks will be provided.
